Hi, I’m Andrii Nikolaiev. I’m a Project Manager in the APEX Research team at Mercor. I hold a PhD in Computer Science, defended my thesis last year.
In 2023 I joined the University of Cambridge NLIP Group as a visiting researcher. Since my undergraduate years, I’ve been interested in how to make AI models reason. I explored this throughout my PhD by building evaluation pipelines, designing benchmarks and datasets, and running human studies to compare the reasoning patterns between models and humans.
Alongside research, I’ve spent nearly a decade building and leading EdTech initiatives, co-founding programs for 1,000+ learners and securing $150K+ in funding, supported by Mercatus Center, XTX, Admixer, and some other companies.
